What it says it does
A different home screen
Live Launcher is a replacement for the standard Android home screen. It is aimed at people who want to change the way their phone looks and behaves without replacing the phone itself. The app sits in the Personalization category and focuses on themes, wallpapers, icons and screen layout.
What you can change
The launcher lets you give the home screen a new visual style using built-in themes, wallpapers, icon packs and fonts. You can also bring your own wallpaper. Its animated transitions add movement when moving between screens, so this may suit users who prefer a more decorative interface over a plain default launcher.
Keeping apps in order
Live Launcher includes tools for arranging the apps shown on the home screen. It can sort apps into folders automatically, which may help on phones with a crowded app list. The feature set also includes access to everyday launcher utilities such as weather information, notification-bar cleaning, news and theme or wallpaper browsing.

- Installs: 1,000,000+
Those figures point to a launcher with a sizeable installed base and generally positive user feedback. The main reason to consider it is visual control: it is better suited to someone who wants themes, animated effects and a more arranged home screen than to someone looking for a minimal, unchanged Android layout.
